Worship at St. Margaret's
O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; let the whole earth stand in awe of him. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
(Ps. 96:9 and Ps 122:1)
We are now in Ordinary Time, which is the traditional name for parts of the year that are not associated with major festivals. There are two such periods: the first, between the day after Candlemas
and Shrove Tuesday, lasts between 1 and 38 days, depending on the date of Easter. The second runs from the day after Trinity Sunday (the Sunday after Pentecost) until the day before Advent Sunday,
a period of 22 to 27 weeks. These periods are traditionally seasons of growth.
Worship
Worship is the act of religious devotion through the use of the liturgy (particular traditions), the purpose of which is to give honour to God. We gather as a Christian Community (Family)
on Sundays and at other times to Worship God as a body of Believers - and this takes the form of Fellowship, Prayer, Word (Scripture), Singing, and the Sacraments.
